After five years of hard work and dedication, the old one-room schoolhouse that sat at the corners of Ketchum and Marshfield Roads for almost 150 years, has been given a new lease on life. Thanks to the dedication of the Friends of Schoolhouse #8, Inc., a tired old eyesore has been beautifully transformed into the Schoolhouse #8 History Center & Museum. Friends of Schoolhouse #8 is a registered Not-For-Profit organizations with the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are 100% tax deductible. The Schoolhouse Bell Town of North Collins

| It is all so gratifying to see the community support our cultural heritage, like this. However, right now the Friends of Schoolhouse #8 need our help again. NORCO Propane Energy Services, as well as the entire Renaldo family, are taking the lead in soliciting your financial support for the schoolhouse project. We now need to ensure that this small slice of our rural American Heritage is supported for the benefit of future generations. We are seeking your help in raising a $50,000 endowment fund. This money, and the interest it generates when invested conservatively, will go a long way in supporting the History Center for many years to come.
Like any other property, there are reoccurring monthly and annual expenses that need to be met for the care and maintenance of the building, not to mention improvements to the exhibits and programs available to students and the general public. The goal is to build this into a learning center that conforms to the Department of Education Chartering requirements. This is a real asset to the community and should be preserved and nurtured to its' fullest potential.
